The Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon Course
The Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon is set to take place on the 3rd March 2019 and will be in its seventh year. As it has in previous years, the start and finish will take place on Midsummer Common.
The Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon began in 2012 with 3000 competitors, in 2016 the course was revised to include a single loop, which meant it was able to grow to 7000 competitors. The event in 2018 is set to be the biggest and best yet with 9000 entries available.
The Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon has sold out in record time in previous years and we expect it to be no different this year as demand for city centre half marathons grow. Not only does the event sell out, but it gets great reviews and feedback. Over 96% of athletes who filled in the post-race survey in 2017 said they would race the Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon again. They also rated the registration process, value for money, pre-event information, medal, new course, overall atmosphere, results and timing between 'excellent' and 'good'.
Competitors will receive all the elements you would expect from a high-profile city centre running event, including online registration, chip timing, UKA certified distance, on course entertainment, professional event medical cover, high quality medals and goodie bags!
The course will remain in the one lap loop, as is has for the previous two years, starting on Victoria Avenue with Midsummer Common being the main event hub. The course heads through the centre of Cambridge; past the Round Church, Kings College, Fitzwilliam Museum and along The Backs. The new section sees the runners head out of the city along Trumpington Road through Grantchester and back into the city along the Barton Road.
