Wiggle Dragon Ride

The Wiggle Dragon Ride is a renowned cycling event and after 12 successful years it’s become one of the leading events of its kind. People from over 30 countries travel to Port Talbot each year to participate and with the introduction of the Dragon Tour for 2015, it looks set to get even bigger and better.

Offering 4 challenging distances you can pick one which suits your ability or even push yourself to ride further and harder than before. Along the course you will see some stunning scenery, face technical descents and relentless alpine like climbs such as 'Devil’s Elbow', 'Rhigos' (nearly an 11km climb), 'Black Mountain' and the 'Devil’s Elbow'.

-          Corto (43km)

-          Media Fondo (153km)

-          Gran Fondo (226km) and finally the

-          Dragon Devil (302km)

There is also the Women-only Macmillan Cycletta on offer, it follows the same route as the Corto and is supported by Olympic Gold Medalist Victoria Pendleton. Being one of the UK’s leading women only bike rides they offer women of all abilities a challenging but achievable event.

New for 2015 they ran the very first Dragon Tour, over 500 cyclists took on a sportive each day starting day 1 in the Gower Peninsula, climbing to the western side of the Brecon Beacons during day 2 and finishing with the Dragon Ride on day 3.

Although the event has already taken place for 2015 make sure you register for 2016 when it becomes available. It’s an event not to be missed and with each year getting bigger and better, places will be snapped up!
