Since 2003 the Morrisons Great Manchester Run has attracted runners from all over Europe wanting to take part in this 10k challenge. Interestingly this year will see the 300,000th runner over the finish line and having just announced that entries are open for the 2016 event, could it be you?

Morrisons Great Manchester Run, Manchester City Centre, Sunday, 22nd May, 2016 - £38 Per Entry
Featuring world class runners, live coverage on BBC, bands dotted around the course and an electrifying atmosphere this event has raised millions of pounds for a number over charities over the years.
The Course
Starting on Portland Street the whole course is closed off to traffic meaning all you need to worry about is having a nice run with friends or trying for that personal best! Along the route you will get some great views of Manchester United’s stadium, The Imperial War Museum and The Lowry. If you are a Coronation Street fan you will also pass those famous cobbles on the new set, then soon after you have a 47-storey skyscraper in view called The Beetham Tower, this will mean you are getting closer to the finish line to have that all important medal proudly hung around your neck.
Promising a new look for 2016 and guaranteeing all finishers a technical t-shirt to go along with a well earned medal, make sure you click the link below to secure your place in this famous running challenge.
Run for Charity
Most events now have charities sponsoring them to enable participants to raise money for a good cause or a charity close to their heart. The Morrisons Great Manchester Run is no different and boasts a large number of supporting charities for people to connect with and get sponsored for taking part. It’s a great way to combine a big achievement of running 10k, which is no easy task, with the added support from friends and family whilst being driven by knowing the money you are raising is going to such a good cause.
There are literally hundreds of charities to choose from but we have listed 10 below with links to their websites, just click on the links if you would like more information about running for them;
